You Me At Six and All Time Low UK Tour

It's always great when two of your favourite bands decide to tour together; and its even better when it's actually in your country for once and not just in America!

This February (Valentine's Day, aw), myself and my best friend were able to attend the All Time Low/You Me At Six tour, and it was absolutely amazing!

All Time Low were on first before You Me At Six who were closing the show, which was probably down to the fact that it was the UK, so being a home grown band, YMAS were probably the best bet to close the show. A lot of people that I knew (that I never thought would be in to this type of music) attended the show, however they all mentioned that they didn't enjoy ATL's set and only YMAS; which confused me.

During the whole of All Time Low's set, it was as if no one was really interested, and singing along to the likes of 'Stella', 'The Irony of Choking on a Lifesaver' and 'Something's Gotta Give', we were given weird looks from all those that were seated around us, just sat in their seats looking bored. A lot of those in the crowd seemed to be sporting You Me At Six merchandise, however I would've thought that being in to YMAS' type of music, a lot of those in the crowd (like ourselves) would be in to ATL's set, too?
I was most happy that All Time Low decided to sing 'Heroes', which is my favourite song of theirs, and I also enjoyed Alex's solo of 'Therapy', which was extremely moving.
More people seemed to be in to them for 'Weightless' which is I think is down to the fact it is one of their most successful songs, the same for 'Dear Maria...', the song that they finished their set on.
Personally, I enjoyed their set however the fact that everyone around us was miserable killed the mood a little, and I think it was worse that we were seated, with lots of the seats around us being quite empty (should've got floor seats).

On to You Me At Six, they played a lot from their new album, 'Cavalier Youth', opening with 'Room To Breathe', my favourite song from this album and one of my favourite from the band, period. Songs like 'Carpe Diem', 'Forgive and Forget', 'Fresh Start Fever' and 'Lived a Lie' (which the set was ended on) were played from their new album, and with it recently being released they seemed quite new for most of the crowd. They did, however, play some classics from 'Hold Me Down', 'Take Off Your Colours' and 'Sinners Never Sleep', like my favourite all time song, 'Reckless', and every song was delivered and received greatly by the crowd.
Although they did stop the set for a brief second due to the crowd getting a bit restless and crushing some of those located at the front, it was a great show from both bands and I would definitely recommend attending one of their shows. I admit, I didn't like being seated (even though they were side stage seats and had a great view), but I definitely would've preferred to be in the bustle of it all and stand, however we decided against this when purchasing tickets as the O2 is such a large place we thought it would be too stressful trying to get a good view from such a large standing area.

All in all, a great show, and I look forward to seeing You Me At Six this May headlining Slam Dunk South in Hatfield.
